We are The National Youth Advocate Program - La Jornada https://www.nyap.org/nyap-locations/la-jornada.html. We have the honor of serving Unaccompanied Minors in East Dundee, IL. Our minors are in the care and custody of ORR - Office of Refugee Resettlement. ORR places unaccompanied children in the least restrictive setting that is in the best interest of the child, taking into consideration the unique nature of each child's situation and incorporates child welfare principles when making placement, clinical, case management and releases decisions that are in the best interest of the child. Our minors come from various parts of Central America particularly Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico and El Salvador. Our facility provides each minor with mental health counseling, case management, educational services, medical services and various before and after school/care activities. We also have a wonderful Foster Parent Recruitment and licensing team who are seeking families to become licensed foster homes and families to our minors. Our Foster Parents provide the children with excellent care, housing, assist with basic needs and provide additional support. Our case management team along with our clinical team provide wraparound services and work on a reunification plan for minors to reunify with either parents and/or approved sponsors in the states.
