Shamrocks for Charity

Since 2018 the Shamrocks for Charity project has collected more than $27.000!

Local establishments sell and display handcrafted postcard signed shamrocks for $5. Year after year our Shamrocks have been recycled and reused.

In 2022 we expanded and sold customized commemorative buttons and suspenders to help raise over $7000. In fact, we are very proud to say every penny collected for the Shamrock’s sale leading up to the Parade has raised more money year after year!

We hope to continue that tradition in 2024 and are happy to involve more businesses to help us.

If you have any questions or suggestions – we want to hear them!

The Top 100 Leader in Experience Award is the highest recognition awarded by HCP and is only awarded to 100 home care businesses in North America. Recipients must consistently rank among the very highest in 10 or more quality metrics. As a Top 100 Leader in Experience Award recipient, Right at Home-NW is recognized among the very best home care providers participating in the nationwide HCP Experience Management Program.

This accomplishment demonstrates Right at Home -NW’s long-term dedication to excellent care and quality improvement. Over a 12-month period, Right at Home – NW received high client and caregiver satisfaction ratings in areas such as caregiver training, compassion of caregivers, communication, scheduling, client/caregiver compatibility, and more. Using feedback from clients and employees, as well as quality benchmarks from HCP, the Right at Home – NW’s management team set goals to reach the highest level of Experience possible.

“Habitat for Humanity: Supporting Women’s Labor at Work and Home – Join Us for Networking, Lunch, & Learning!”

Habitat NFV Women Build will be hosting a luncheon at The Pavilion at Lords Park in Elgin on March 8th, 2024, to illuminate the often overlooked contributions of women in various spheres of life.
The event, taking place on International Women’s Day, will delve into the theme of ‘Hidden Work’ carried out by women and aims to chart a course towards acknowledging and valuing these contributions. The keynote speaker for the occasion is Jacqueline S. Ruiz, a distinguished author and social entrepreneur known for her visionary approach to inspiring positive change. With a remarkable portfolio that includes two successful award-winning companies, two nonprofit organizations, 29 books, and numerous impactful events, Ruiz is a true “dream catcher.” Her dedication to service, especially in supporting women, authors, and young ladies, has left an indelible mark globally. Jacqueline’s journey, marked by resilience as a cancer survivor, has instilled in her a profound belief in the synergy of profit and impact, which she whimsically terms “magix.”

At the heart of Jacqueline S. Ruiz’s address during the luncheon is the theme of “Navigating Invisible Labor.” Her flight plan for creating visible, valued work serves as a beacon for individuals seeking significance in their lives. Ruiz’s extraordinary achievements extend beyond her entrepreneurial ventures to her role as one of the very few Latina sports airplane pilots in the United States. As the founder of the Latinas in Aviation global brand, she advocates for pursuing dreams with the mantra, “taking off is optional, landing on your dreams is mandatory.” With her diverse experiences and commitment to uplifting others, Jacqueline S. Ruiz is poised to inspire attendees at the ‘Women Build’ Luncheon, encouraging them to embrace the magic that arises at the intersection of profit and impact.

NKCC Woman in Business, Dollars for Scholars Luncheon

Join us for our March luncheon at Bamboozels in West Dundee with Guest Speaker Michele Clark from Payroll Vault.
$25 Chamber Members & $30 Non-Members  ~ Reservations must be made at least four business days in advance.

Improving our community through networking and higher education opportunities.
Women in Business is dedicated to the continuing education, development, mentoring and improvement of chamber members and proud representative of the Dollars for Scholars ® Program providing scholarships for High School Seniors and College students affiliated with the Northern Kane County Chamber or residing in the NKCC market area. We appreciate your help in supporting our mission.

Don’t forget, we will be selling raffle tickets at each of our monthly luncheons. Ever dollar raised from our raffles goes directly to our scholarship fund.

Michele Clark from Payroll Vault will be speaking on “Being a Business Disruptor in a World of Disruptions” a fun, interactive presentation about the trends and present challenges for small business owners and employers.

Michele’s appreciation for small business owners started in her youth. Her parent’s swimming pool construction and service company operated out of their family home. For Michele, business school was fielding customer calls on the kitchen phone and creating invoices on the shared family word processor. Raised with a front row seat to a family-owned business, she gained firsthand insight into both the rewards and obstacles of entrepreneurship, experiencing the joys and challenges of being one’s own boss from a young age.
Following graduation from Miami University with a Bachelor of Science degree, Michele embarked on a career in Pharmaceutical Sales, gradually ascending to upper management positions. Drawing from her experiences in this corporate environment and her deep-seated ties to her family’s business, Michele felt compelled to venture into entrepreneurship. Diving into the deep end, she took ownership of a large preschool franchise, overseeing operations that catered to 140 families and managed a team of 30
employees daily. After a whirlwind 11-year ride, she sold her business, leveraging her expertise in youth programs to serve as the Chief Operating Officer of the Boys and Girls Club of Dundee Township.
Three years and one pandemic later, Michele’s entrepreneurial spirit beckoned once more, guiding her back to the call of small businesses. This time, she assumed the role of Director of Business Development at Payroll Vault. In this capacity, Michele utilizes
her firsthand understanding of the trials faced by small business owners to offer tailored solutions for their operational and human resource needs. Through services such as payroll management and HR solutions, Michele empowers small business proprietors to concentrate on their core operations and clientele, fostering growth and prosperity in
their ventures.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Michele is mom of 2 spirited young women and an avid advocate for community involvement including the Elgin Symphony Orchestra where she sits on the Board of Directors. Michele loves travel and hopes to visit Japan one day. For fun and a challenge, Michele enjoys playing tennis several times a week. When not on the court, she delights in overcoming her losses by exploring new wines.
